The Mexican Wolf is a type of North American Gray Wolf and the most endangered one. Wolves get a pretty bad reputation because, as predators, they do hunt livestock and other animals that humans would like them not to. This is why they are often hunted themselves. There are around 220 of these wolves in the wild now, a very low number but still up from what if was. This predator is a “keystone species”, meaning that without them, the negative effects are felt all the way down the food chain to the habitat itself. Unfortunately, this is not the only endangered wolf as wolves around the world face threats from humanity as their natural hunting territory is built upon or used for pastoring livestock.
Half of all proceeds go to Defenders of Wildlife to help the Mexican Wolf.
